Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Expo


Residential Village-Health, Safety and Environment (RV-HSE) Expo is an annual initiative coordinated by Residential College Support Unit (RCSU) of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) which was supported by Residential Village Management, was held in collaboration with Health, Safety and Environment Department and Jabatan Kesihatan Negeri Perak. This event organized specially for UTP students and staffs was aimed to raise awareness of the current health, safety and environment issues that surrounds the community.  
One of the program highlight is the on board a session from Jabatan Kesihatan Negeri to talk on vaping and smoking and its impact to the society and environment.  Further to it, the session was also promoting the benefit of quality health surveillance in dealing with the ill health effects of unbalanced environment exposures. For the year 2016, RV-HSE EXPO, spearheaded by Amin bin Hasmi as the Project Manager, carried a different theme, which is “Inspiring Better Healthcare” with slogan “It’s Time for Changes”.
Objective

  • To provide set of interactive exhibits with engaging facilitation which highlighting common health and safety issues
  • To motivate and facilitate the people to fully attain their health potential, appreciate health as valuable asset and take positive actions to further improve and sustain their health status.
  • To explains the science behind these issues: health and safety.
  • To teach public especially UTP students in a proactive way about the importance of ensuring safety measures adhered while in UTP.
  • Making the activities and exhibits of HSE EXPO 2016 as a source of informal learning based.
  • To measure the students’ mental endurance during the competition.
  • To let UTP students spend their leisure time with a healthy competition in games.
  • To hone and enhance the skills of the participants in the games.
  • To generate social interaction among the students.
  • To improve the students’ abilities and skills in terms of leadership, time management and some other aspects where these are applied to the real society instead of within the campus community only.
  • To promote UTP as a private institution of education who is a leader in technology, education and center for creativity and innovation as well as role model in health, safety and environment.
